Silver Spoon Anime to Run on noitaminA Block

According to 2013’s 7th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, Fullmetal Alchemist creator’s Silver Spoon manga is getting a TV anime adaptation. The awaited anime is slated to run on Fuji TV’s late night noitaminA block (00:45 to 1:45 Friday morning) this July. A new site has launched for the anime, but no further details were revealed.

Silver Spoon (Gin no Saji) is a slice-of-life manga by Hiromu Arakawa. It began serialization in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine last year and won the great prize for the 5th Manga Taishō award.

Arakawa drew on her upbringing as a Hokkaido farmer to write this story. The story follows Yugo Hachiken, a boy who enrolls in an agricultural school so that he can live in its dorms and get away from his family. He assumes that he will have no problems due to his talent in studying. However, he soon discovers that there’s a lot for a city boy to learn about agriculture.
